  1. Power off immediately. Hold the power button. Don’t wait to save files.
  2. Unplug the charger and any accessories.
  3. Tip it upside down in a tent shape so liquid drains away from the board.
  4. Don’t turn it back on to check, and skip the bag of rice.
  5. Bring it in the same day. Corrosion starts within hours, especially with sugary drinks.

What we do

We open the laptop, inspect the board under magnification and perform a chemical cleaning to remove residue and corrosion. Then we test every part and replace only what’s actually damaged, often just a keyboard or a single component. If the board can’t be saved, we focus on recovering your data.

How much does water damage laptop repair cost?
Liquid damage cleaning starts at $150. If parts such as a keyboard need replacing, we quote them before ordering.
My laptop works after drying out. Am I fine?
Not always. Residue left behind keeps corroding the board and can cause failures weeks later. A professional cleaning removes it.
Can you save my files after a spill?
Often yes. Even if the laptop can’t be repaired, data recovery is frequently possible.
